If you want to kill weeds where birds are, this is not a long term weed killer as it has no real residual effect but it works well for whatever is growing at the time of application...

I mix 1 lb table salt (or rock salt) with 1.5 gallons common white vinegar in a pump sprayer... Spray away...

I think my husband said Russian weeds, broad leaf weeds. I had heard white vinegar for weeds, but never had luck with them.

Huh, interesting. I know when 3 guineas mysteriously showed up at our home a few years ago, one of them laid eggs in our hedges, I think over 20, she ended up hatching 3 babies. She had lost one before our neighbor stole them from us and I don't know whatever happened to any of them.
