Do you play music for your chickens?

My chickens chilled HARD when Skyrim ambience was playing in their coop! I was trying to study and I sat near the coop to listen to their purrs and chirps to help focus and decided to play Skyrim ambience music too and they all froze, gathered, and sat near me and started making quiet happy sounds! I bought them a little radio today!
Ok, definitely gonna try Skyrim music now!!

I love skyrim, and the music seems perfect for chooks. :)

Hey, I chill hard to Skyrim soundtrack myself! It's my favorite music to paint or woodwork to for some reason, which means it was on a lot when I built the coop. My girls seem to like anything I put on when I'm out there, but may indeed like the more chill stuff like movie soundtracks and chill progressive house music.

The first flock of chickens I had did like music/song. I started singing to them when they were day old chicks. They had one song that would gather them toward me, and another song that would call them to roost. I kid you not. My neighbors and family cracked up and were in disbelief. They all passed eventually to old age. We just got four new chicks in April of this year. I sing to them, also, and play music - typically classical. They do seem to enjoy the music, but do not respond the same as the first flock. -funny how they are all so different.
As a retired opera singer, I have to ask: what was the song that called them to you and what was the song that called them to roost? What a lovely tradition.

Maybe!

So my neighbor's son works out of his Dad's garage during the day and absolutely 'blasts' outlaw country. And I mean loud, like you're right next to it loud. I was in the middle of acclimating my chicks to the coop the first week I started noticing it and I was a bit annoyed, thinking the noise could be unnerving to them.

Since I was back and forth checking on them all day for the first week I realized they behaved differently during different songs, and it seemed like they were having a really good time. One day I was sitting next to the run and they heard his extra loud car down at the street and started getting super excited like how they do for treats!! I think it's hilarious how they all run around and flap/hop and play with each other during the heavier songs and lay in a big cuddle pile for the ballads.

I didn't tell my husband what I have been observing because he already thinks I'm a nut. He just caught them playing around to Charlie Daniels and he thought it was so funny he came to tell me about it, so it made me think... am I not crazy? Lots of birds visibly enjoy music, so why not chickens? Do you ever play music for your chickens? If so, what do they like? I'm very curious!!
🤣🤣🤣you’re hilarious, you should come join me and my mad flock of whoops now 30😳😳!!!
Mine luvvvvv music, right now I have two of my girls trying lay they both have a bit of a hard time so I’ve on repeat nice n loud Dalt n Peppers Push It🤣🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Ohhh but I have dux not chookins but they luv it just the same, when one comes on that we can all like join in I jump from pen to pen getting them revel up to go!!!

Funnily enough only bout 5 mins ago I had a random thought of how bad it would be if someone planted a hidden camera in here god I’d be catapulted straight to nut house I dance around with em everything🤣🤣🤣

I make sure my birds develop good tastes in music by playing metal (mainly melodic death metal) for them from an early age. My late head hen Thyme loved be'lakor's countless skies and my current group of pullets enjoys primalfrost's maelstrom
