I'm curious how many of you are involved in selling eggs or anything at a farmer's market. Could you tell me how you got started and give me any tips? Thanks in advance!

Call your local grange. We have a small farmers market that sets up twice a week all summer long. But i believe you have to be a grange member to participate.

Yes, we sell sweet corn and honey. We were gonna sell eggs but the rules and regulations were outrageous and it couldnt happen. We found out through our local extension service agent.

We do from time to time. The most important thing is research your states laws, permits etc. and get what you need. Spend some at the sale before you go and set up. A good place to be is where people enter and exit (that way they have to walk right past you). Present your product where they can see it, of course a friendly attidute. Make sure you have the best looking stuff there. If it's a food item offer samples and tell them all about it. There is a big repeat business so once you get known people will keep coming back to you. Hope that helps some?

Steve
