Hello:)

This will be my third year keeping Ancona Ducks.
Currently, I have 3 hens and 1 drake. I am hatching and will keep 16 (total) this year woo!
I believe my drake carries the chocolate gene and one of my hens is silver. One of my black hens lays light blue eggs, the other two lay white.
My ducks hang out with me in the garden and take care of all my pests!!! They are silly and adorable and they make me smile. I love the sound their feet make when they hit the pavement.
I enjoy gardening, indoor and outdoor plants. Cooking and baking as well as making art and reading.

I often find myself on BYC when googling something or other about the ducks, I finally made an account because I am thinking about selling hatching eggs/ducklings and have been struggling with pricing! Such a large gap between local (wny) barnyard mix prices and online Ancona sales.
That's great! My sister is the one with ducks, though she prefers the Runner ducks. They have had quite a few hatches, but per my sister most ended up being drakes. She was my sounding board on deciding whether to buy chicks or not this month and her response was "no more chickens...but if you buy ducks, I'll take them off your hands when they are raised" (hint, hint). I just laughed at her, I have never planned to raise ducks.
