My 6 YO daughter will be selling some of her chicken eggs, and we are pretty new at this anyways, my question is do you sell eggs? If so, how do you decide what to sell them for? We will have chocolate color, light brown, and blue eggs. I believe right now you can get a 18 carton at the store for around 2 dollars give or take.
Has anyone had success from having a sign at the bottom of your driveway or posting at farm stores?
    Thank you!

3.00 a dozen here in south Carolina, fresh egg sign wasn't doing much but a cackleberries sign got some takers.

I live in Ohio on Lake Erie and farm fresh colored eggs go for $5.50 a dozen for large eggs and $4.00 a dozen for bantam eggs. A dozen grocery store brown eggs go for about $2.50 Crazy huh?

Check the area that you live in and find out what other people are selling their eggs for. I sell mine for $2.00 a doz but others are getting $3.00. I should go up on mine because at the store, brown eggs run between $3.79 and $5.39 a doz. I get between 24-35 eggs a wk and I only have one dependable customer so as long as they are buying their own food & extras, I am happy with that. I am not in it for the profit and it is good that they produce enough to take care of their own needs.

I give a few dozen to people I know. Such as the gals that work at the salon next door or the people that work at the coffee shop I go to every morning. I give the first dozen free to get them hooked. I charge five dollars a dozen for my eggsafter that and I get it. :love

Best way to get good money for your eggs is to have unusual chickens and sell hatching eggs. I got $45 for 6+ eggs before.
