Do you thank your chickens when they lay an egg for you?

I don't usually do this but sometimes I open the nest box and the hen is laying an egg and i get to catch it!!!! that is an amazing part for me about keeping chickens

Absolutely!!!! Yep, Crazy chicken lady right here I tell them how beautiful the egg is and that they're such a good mama. I tell them I'm sorry if I interrupt them while in the nest. And the list goes on.... Haha

Yea, i do too! Glad i'm not the only one doing this. (I'll catch myself telling them random things sometimes, anybody else do this?)

I think it is always good to say "Thank you" to my hens, because they are my sweeties and they went through a lot laying the egg.

I talk, sing, and tell stories to mine. I say thank you to for every egg they lay, and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this. Luckily my neighbors don't spend to much time outside, but they have to have caught me singing a couple of times at least! I'm pretty sure they think I'm crazy. Anybody who eavesdrops on me and my chickens will learn a LOT about me.

Well, I'm sure glad I'm not the only one! Since I'm the one who made this thread, I should at least say what I do.

- Yes, I thank my chicken every time! And if I know who did it, I say (let's take Kiwi for example) "Thank you Kiwi baby girl! It's such a nice egg! Your so sweet." in a "baby talk" voice.

I also tell my chickens things like you @SoftSilkie. Luckily my neighbors don't listen.
