oh yes the feathers will darken as it gets older. you got a cutie red frizzle baby. I love how there feathers do that.

This was one of my red frizzle cochin bantam at 4 weeks

Wow a frizzle and a red, too cool! Glad I went back and snagged 8 more bantams lol. Makes me want to go back and see if they still have some left lol.

Congrats on your Frizzle! A Red too... VERY NICE! I have one white hen and one black and copper Roo (he still doesn't have all his feathers). They are very cool. My hen Ms. Frizzby comes and sits next to me on her own whenever I'm outside. Jeremy the Roo is the cutest little thing. He loves to torment the other hens by running up to them and leaping onto their heads. They in turn run him off but you can tell its all in play.

Thanks, I am totally excited. Can't wait to tell DH that all my chick buying paid off. He has wanted me to find/get a frizzle and now I did it by accident lol.

ETA: Oh my!!! I just went to look at all my little bantams and noticed I picked out what seemed like a little black bantam Cochin. Its wing feathers look just like the Reds do, only a little shorter yet. I think I might have 2 frizzles!!!

I will try to get a pic of it soon! It looks like the one in shay20s pic next to the red frizzle, only mine is tinier.

My black one looks very similar to yours, with the little wing feathers just starting to flip out.

I am still shocked that I have frizzles now! Yay for us!!

I would have to agree on a frizzle i have one my self and yes they are UGLY when there teens! although one of my hens pick on her.
