I think they are "special needs" chickens. They can not fly worth a hoot, they have too many toes, you can not tell the roos from the hens most of the time (unless they crow) and they tend to attract lots of dirt and poop. They form the "silkie pile" and seem to always find a BIG fluffly rooster to snuggle up with.
I have ONE silkie that I HAVE to pick up EVERY NIGHT and put into the silkie pile. You would think she would just get the drift, but NOOOOO.
No Way They Are The Sweetest Birds In The Universe And They Are So Cute Like Little Cottan Balls With A Beak On One End And Feet On The Other. So *nyeh* To All Nasty Unbelievers In Silkie Adorableness!
That is NOT a chicken!!! Its some fuzzy mutant thing trying to be a chicken! I do like the fuzzy feathers to a certain extent (the silkie-feathered ameruacana's somebody's got on here!!!! <3<3<3) BUt all the other traits.. not so much!! Ive seen pictures and you gotta wonder how the poor thing can see! Eeeh
I guess Im more into the standard birds!!
I guess its the same saying I dont like long haired cats!!
I think silkies are sorta ugly because all you see is piles of fluff and a beak. When they have their crest(?) trimmed and you see their eyes they are much nicer looking. I think what does turn me off the most is their combs, they look like ughly warts.
I use to hate silkies, only got em cause my SO wanted em. Now I LOVE my lil white fluff balls and they love spa day, that's the day they get their beauty treatments
