That's a little like asking if you think people are ugly. There are real adorable cutie puddles of fluff. Then there are scary things with a comb that looks like a moldy prune.

To be fair all breeds have the potential to go through ugly stages during puberty and molts.

Silly, maybe. Frivolous, certainly. But not ugly.

Now Turkens/ Naked necks - those are ugly!

Ugly? Hmm no. They are just kind of "different" I guess and certainly not my cup of tea, but I would not say that they are ugly.

I didn't like them at first...didn't think they looked like chickens. Then Granny Donna put in for silkies so I hatched her a dozen eggs. Now I'm hooked and except for our LF "girls"...it's all silkies! Of course, they have to be GREAT looking silkies. There are some pitiful lookin' hatchery ones out there.

Silkies are...different...but I would not say ugly.

Even the breeds (few) that I think are truly ugly, others think are beautiful so my opinion doesn't really matter except within my flock.

BTW, when I opened my box of silkies yesterday, I sent a friend a text with the pic from above and asked if he'd ever seen chickens that looked like that. He said he couldn't tell if it was a box of puppies or furry tennis balls.
