Obama's problem is he is spineless. He also did not do himself any favors allowing Oprah and others to run around calling him the Messiah either. Obama painted himself into his corner and then put himself on a pedestal as if he could fix the economy. He just broke his campaign promise about not raising taxes on people who make 250K or less. What does that say about him? I know you like RP but he just says wacky things when he is starting to sound good.

I don't blame BO for anything myself really (until now) but I also don't credit him for anything either. He is like a eunuch in a harem, he is just there.

The jobs are in China and India. But they are also here. Don't blame the people with money for creating jobs in other countries we have our government to blame.

Where did manufacturing go? China, Mexico - places where big business can pay slave wages to people in poverty rather than a living wage here. Stop looking at big business with rose colored glasses, for starters... Do you really think they are going to stay here or come back just because we loosen up a few more taxes on them? They already get massive breaks and have tons of lobbying power and they still have left our country. They have only the bottom line to look at and as long as they have the ability to do business in countries without enviormental regulations and have sources of cheap labor, etc. they are going to keep doing it. It is serious fantasy to think that mega corporations are going to build more jobs in this country when the trend is manufacturing in third world countries.

Thats because there really is nothing to be done - it's already over, just most people won't admit it. But hey, I understand that a lot of folks don't feel that way and they are welcome to rail all they want. As citizens the best you can do it delay it, slow it by voting for things that work in favor of american jobs, but to think this will reverse is just not realistic.

If you mean leaving Europe to move to the US, you're incorrect. Airbus already has several subsidiaries in the US and other countries. It now plans to build a factory in the US in order to compete more closely with Boeing, which has benefited against foreign manufacturers through protectionist polices for rather a long time.

The point is they could have built the plant in any country so why here ? They already compete with Boeing so if they build someplace with low wages and less regulation wont they be able to sell for less ?

Eventually because they are up against companies operating with a lot more freedoms and huge economic advantages, they will become non-competative and either fold or move out of the US
