Apparently, certain home associations don't allow their members to hang laundry outside. As a person who loves seeing laundry waving in the wind, I don't understand how drying it outside could be offensive.
The arguments against the use of clotheslines sound childish to me. One point was that clotheslines make a community look like "trailer trash". I think that it makes a community seem friendly. How the heck is a clothesline indicative of "trailer trash"?(I don't like that term)
Another argument was that no one wanted to see someone elses' underwear. Okay, unless the clothing is on the person, it doesn't bother me to see underwear. I am an adult not six years old. Hopefully, we can all pass the underwear section in the store without giggling. People wo are so silly that they would make this type of argument against drying clothing need to be told to grow up.
To be honest, I think that my neighbors can do what they please as long as they aren't breaking laws or hurting anyone. So, maybe I am missing something.
Are any of you bothered by drying laundry on clotheslines?
