Keep in mind (as kelar said) that Sulmet treats more strains of cocci than Corid. Corid is given by so many as a first line drug because it is supposed to be a little easier on their systems to handle.

You should see an improvement within 24 hours or so in the bloody poo. If you don't see improvement, you might consider starting Sulmet instead.

I am not the original poster but I will share my experience.

Bought 7 new chicks (7 weeks old) and one had droopy wings. I should have said something to the seller, but I didnt want to make her feel uncomfortable. Figured the chick would come around.

Chick got worse and then I was seeing poopy blood. Treated everyone with Corid.
No more poopy blood. The droopy winged chick seemed to get better, but another one got
sick. She would sit with her eyes closed. I gave her corid water via eye dropper and nutri drops.

This is into week 2 with the treatments.

Another chick started with the closed eyes and I bought sulmet.

No improvement with the 2, and then another started with the closed eyes.

This morning the last chick to get sick was dead, so I culled the other two.

I hope this is the end of this. Next time I will know that I need to speak up to a seller and basically refuse the entire group.
