Do you use the lids for the GQF HAtcher

For those that have a GQF HAtcher do you use the tray lids for hatching or not, the directions says for Quail yes but chickens no, Why would this be.

yes i use them for all even the peafowl, only resaon guess chicken would be easy to catch,
