Do you wash ducks before a show?

Do you use soap or just let them play in clean water for awhile?

It can depend on what colour they are..and how dirty they are... Some of my white chested ducks sometimes have a dirty stripe that I use a bit of soap on- but I dont put them in soapy water. I rub the soap on my hand only washing the effected area. I change the water in their swimming tubs and let them clean themselves mostly though. I do bring them to the laundry tub the night before a show to scrub their legs and feet - then pen them each separately for the night to help make sure they are still clean in the morning- a bit or moisturizer cream or olive oil on the legs as they go into to cage..and they are done.
