Do you wear gloves when butchering a rabbit?

I read a book that said to wear gloves when skinning, butchering, and preparing a rabbit because of tularemia (rabbit fever I think.) Do any of you use or not use gloves? Have you ever gotten sick? What kind of gloves do I get?

I wear gloves.....but I'm almost a nurse so I always wear gloves!!!!!!! I use nitrile gloves and not latex. I also change them frequently during processing. Check a tractor supply or store like that. I actually buy a big box from sams wholesale. Johnny if you have other questions.....just email me
