Do you wish you had built a bigger coop?

I have 2 16x20 covered pens between them I have an 8x20 it housed 3 quail and 25-30 chickens. Been empty for 15 years so I decide to get back into chickens and have turkeys no quail....I am building another 14x14 and a row that is 18 x30 and I'm planning on keeping 6 turkeys and 50 chickens.....and I can use horse stalls to brood in I have 6 of those 12x18 of course sometimes they do have horses in them I do believe that you can never have enough space because 2 months ago I was only planning on having 30 chickens no turkeys and we are building tractors planning on using electric web to let our birds roam. Birds love the space you will love extra space because it makes taking care of them easier. When my pens were not used by birds they acquired truck parts and tires and rims those were easy to get rid of....

Last April I had 6 chicks from TSC.
This April I have 46 chickens, and only 10 are adults

I am mostly happy with my coop size, I wish maybe it was a tad bigger so I could put in some actual cages, or actually more like a breeding pen area. A "honeymoon hotel" or maybe just a bachelor pad. I don't have a very good way to separate breeds with my current setup

Do I wish I have built a bigger coop?YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last year dh built 16x16 thought that would be big enough but got more baby chicks this spring and am wondering if there will be enough room come winter for all them,dh says he is not building another coop!!

I was going to get 3, not more than 4, chicks...then I decided 6, not more than 8, hadn't built the coop yet....needed this info.

Then I decided 10, may as well make it an even 12. No more than 15!! Fifteen will be my limit!!

I have 17 and a cockerel...coop is under construction.

I can't go anywhere where there are chicks as I may not exercise self-control.

My advice, go as big as you can afford and are legally permitted!! I did (10 x14 without a building permit) and have no regrets...except that I couldn't go bigger

I started with 9 and lost a few. Now have 14 chicks, a broody hen on 12 eggs, 5 young pullets, and 7 of my original flock. Build it BIG and strong. I am ok with the size of mine as they free range during the day, but I worry about predators. Build Fort Knox if you can.

Ohhh yeah, we have two coops now and i so wish we built a bigger one, we keep getting more and if one dies we will make up for it but you cant just buy 1 chick at a time so......................
