Do young pullets react like cats in heat?

Ok, so I have three girls, two of which had inconclusive poll results here. The 99% BO pullet pretty much mimes a cat in heat when I pet her on my lap something fierce. Can this be used as a method to sex pullets? The girls are now 14 weeks, and I did a test on the other two after luring them with raisins and giving a gentle squeeze with thumb and forefinger (like grabbing their tail) from the top around the base (touching the base of their pelvis) produced similar reactions. There's a noticeable tension in the area and slight raise of the tail when gentle pressure is applied.

Anybody else notice this? Thoughts?

Sounds like they are doing the "squat" for you. What you are doing is simulating what the roo does when he mounts the females. They basically stand on the hens and dip their tail over the female's vents. The hens raise their tail up to make it easier on the roos. Once they start doing this, eggs can start coming at any time!
