Do your chickens eat worms??

I'm the one who posted the original question about the worms. My dominiques from last year wouldn't eat them, so I threw out the worm bin.
Wouldn't you know it... the speckled sussex that I ordered this year slurp them down. They seem to be more aggressive at foraging and really love the worms. Now I wish I kept those worms!
I have noticed that they go at the bugs with more gusto when I don't keep their feeder full all day long. Letting them get a little empty makes them hustle more for the free, more nutritious food the yard provides.

I don't know about earth worms but all of mine go crazy for mealworms. I raise my own. It's super simple and it is a great way to get them to come to me. But, don't sit on the ground and feed them. I've nearly been mugged a few times doing that. I think there is someone on here that sells them super cheap too. Like $15 of 1,000. I ordered 2,000 from Dr. somebody's website for $45 with s&h. Wish I had seen them on here first.

I keep mine is a closet and with as warm as it is they are breeding like mad!

My chickens love japenese beetles. I go to the garden everyday and put as many as i can i a jar, cut or there wings so they can fly away and give them to the chickens. Its like watching a football game.

When I run the tiller and get the worms to the surface my chickens follow me and gobble them up as fast as they can. They love it. Sometimes I have to stop the tiller and watch.

My chickens spend most of the day scratching in the horse manure pile which is FULL of worms.

I searched for Meal Worms and got thre or for expired sales on them at 1000 for $9.00 or something like that. with prices like that I think it pays to leave the rearing to someone else. THin gis all the sales where from late last year. are they still being offered?
