Do your chickens recognize your face, your voice, or both?

Ours recongize me and they come running when I call "chick chick chick", and when I go into their coop first thing in the morning they start these long drawly clucks and talk to me. I think they are saying "hey there you are, let us out we want to free range!"

I was wondering if you all had some stories about chickens recognizing their humans. I have yet to "test" my chickens for recognition myself :D

When I come home, they hear my voice and begin chattering until I come outside. If I'm too slow they will come up on the deck and tap on the glass to remind me.

When I call them they come running...it's great.

I've been teaching them to eat weeds, they do a wonderful job. I'm almost completely out of bindweed in the backyard.

Probably not my face but I had a Buff orp that ran out to the front of the house when I pulled onto the property and greeted me as I opened the car door, along with my dogs and a cat. She was such a love.

I've watched mine as I drive up to my house. They recognize my CAR and come running! I've ridden up in other vehicles and they don't even notice unless I say something, then they come running. If I open the back door, they come running. If anyone else opens the back door, they'll start until they realize it's not me, then they stop and run back up under the barn. So, yes, I think they recognize faces and voices as well as anything else that they associate with the person who feeds them treats, etc.

I call them by name,
they quickly come.
Whoever said,
Chickens are dumb?

As I sit on my porch,
one jumps in my lap.
As I pet her head,
she takes a nap.

Excited by her trust,
it's hard to believe.
How much this chicken,
chooses to trust me.

I wanna be like my chickens,
quickly run when God calls.
To sit upon my Father's lap
and take a rest from it all.

I wanna be like my chickens,
to trust with my eyes closed.
Knowing the one who loves me,
smiles softly as I doze.

I love this, the 16 babies I have raised since hatching do the same. They hop on my knee or perch on my arm that is against my chest and quickly fall asleep as I talk to and praise them for being such sweet babies. They aren’t babies anymore but you can’t tell them that.😂
