Do Your Ducks Have Any Self-Restraint When it Comes to Slugs?

Sometimes we really worry about Amelia and her slug hunting prowess/lack of self-restraint.

The first time I saw Daphne “post slug”, I thought she was choking and was going to die! She absolutely has no restraint when it comes to eating them. I now know to just provide her with plenty of clean water to wash her beak out afterwards!

We use to have a terrible slug infestation grass hoppers too. I guess someone took care of them and maybe they do eat slugs when they aren’t around me, they probably think if they don’t eat the slug I toss them I may feel sorry for them and give them a pound of mealworms!

Water certainly helps!

What breed of duck is Daphne?

Am I the only person whose garden has been stripped down so much it looks like a prison exercise yard ?! :hit

The only stuff left standing is lavender, rosemary and iris's. Even the insects know to stay at least a metre above ground level....

Your garden / yard / land looks amazing !
Our guys certainly help to keep the snails and slugs in check, but we keep them clear of the garden until unprotected seedlings are established ;-)
