Me too. I was making the SHRA point - which is the answer to the question of what the product was had already been answered.
I feel so guilty! I need to supply more SHRA tax!

Fascinating. She is completely silly and adorable - she flutters around like a butterfly - I am not sure if that is always intentional or if all those feathers on her feet give 'lift' to every step!
She is a doll 💕~ crested-feathered breeds seem to be mostly gentle temperaments IMO.

My druthers/personal preference/wish is that there were two of Cookie to toodle together since she's on the smaller size... that's me... I like to see a multiple of same breeds... alikes do tend to understand/blend w/ each other.

After our 1st 2-3 yrs of a small backyard flock of different breeds, we switched to getting new birds in breed sets of 2-3 alike breeds. 3 of the same breed was best so that if we lost one there was still an alike pair left to integrate into a new flock.

Don’t forget I also have tiny Piglet and Pooh who is only a few ounces bigger.

@Pastel the Rooster

Resistance to sulfadimethoxine develops readily. Because resistance can develop easily it is usually given with a second antibiotic in humans to cut off any potentially resistant bacteria.

If you already gave this today, I recommend that you complete the 5 day course and not switch them to Corid after 1 dose.

However, I understand that what is actually practical also has to play into what you do. I will not judge you harshly if you need to switch then to corid in the water.

Something else to consider.....

While a bloody stool like you showed us is a classic symptom of coccidiosis, knowing that they have been on medicated feed gives me pause. It's not impossible for them to develop coccidiosis while on medicated feed, but I would be surprised.

If it is not coccidiosis, and is bacterial in origin, then the sulfadimethoxine is a better treatment as it will kill bacteria. Corid does not treat bacteria.

I swear I'm not trying to confuse things but I am trying to share what I am inferring from the information provided.
Thank you! I am going to stick with the 5 day treatment of that really long word that I am not going to attempt to type out.
Taffy has been taking it pretty well. She seems to like the banana taste.
It’s not confusing at all, and I really appreciate your advice and information.

No. Absolutely do not dilute. Give everyone a full course or none. Try to never give an antibiotic part way. That is how resistance occurs.
Good thing I didn’t dilute it. Would giving the others a full course hurt them, even if they aren’t sick?

Probably not, though antibiotics can be tough on a body, but you risk making whatever bacteria there are around and about resistant to the drug. What that means is that it may be ineffective against future infections.
Best just to treat the sick.
