Do your girls fight over nest boxes?

So all chickens do it. It's not so bad when it's my 2 EE's, they can share with no problem. But my BLRW is too big and bossy to share. Since we put in the chicken cam I get to see the drama.

yes, mine seem to have a favorite box, and when its occupied, they squak non stop then my rooster joins in untill one of them is available

Due to a minor construction flaw, I have one nesting box that is about 3 inches wider than the others. This, of course, is the nesting box of choice for about 18 hens. Lol. I will go check on them, and see 3 or 4 hens crammed in the box with another waiting for one to leave. I will go and find about a dozen eggs in that one nest. Beats me. I should have screwed up more often in the construction of them.

We have twice as many nesting boxes as hens, but they all want the one in the corner.

I had a chicken brooding and the others would go in there and lay on top of her. (nothing was going to make her move off her eggs)

I have eight hens, four boxes and one is used. Occasionally I my get one in a different box, just figured they couldn't hold it.

Hi! 7 hens, 6 boxes, they pretty much only use one and they, too, wait in line and grumble as they wait! :>
