My rooster crows for almost anything. If I am out working in the yard he seems to be a little more content. Otherwise he crows at all hours of the day and night. He crows when he hears the car or truck pull into the driveway. He crows when the neighbors dogs bark. He crows when the hens cackle and he crows just to hear himself crow. I am trying to wait him out since he is still young, 22 weeks. He is really good with the girls so far and he isn't showing any tendency to be mean. He even still lets me hold him on occasion. I really want chicks from him, a dark brahma, so I am waiting on a broody to do the job. I may have to make the effort to build a incubator. After that he may get to take a trip to the local feed store who will take him and give him to a good home. I'm still holding out hope that he will settle down and crow when it's necessary not just to be doing it.
