What steps should I take to prevent transmitting it to my chickens?

I don't know if it can transfer between species, but just in case wash your hands before you go in the coop and wear a face mask. You could also use latex gloves when handling feed. Or get someone else to do the chores while you are ill. It never hurts to take precautions.
