Does $3.00 sound too high?

People see my chickens and stop all the time wanting eggs. On the rare occassion they are not all set in the incubator I get $3 a doz for mine. Everybody says,"Well that's what they sell for at the store and they aren't near as good as these"

I just left the grocery store about an hour ago. Since I don't have any chickens (yet) I still have to buy them. The organics were $3.69 a dozen. The Egglands Best were on sale this week for $1.99 a dozen. The coupon that I had brought the price down to $1.59 a dozen. However I will have to see how they compare with the Land O Lakes Cage Free eggs that I've been buying... It would be so much easier if I had some darn chickens!!

Tn prices are much cheaper as income is much lower here. I know at the farmers market they go for $2. You can always start at $3 and if they dont sell drop them down. Alot will depend on your area if it is retirement or young folks. Closer to one of the big cities will help.

Good luck

We sell ours for $3 a dozen. We could probably get more, but rather that people come back and buy more from us.

If people want cheaper eggs, let them suffer with bland tasting store eggs from unhappy chickens.

My local chicken farmer gets $4.00 a dozen for free range.
I thought that was too much so I went and got my own chickens. Built a coop, bought feed, feeder, water, take care of then daily.......... Yea, I should break even by 2010!
