That is exactly what I think! Non of them have any saddle or hackle feathers, no one is crowing, no spur growth, nothing to indicate roo. Those are my only chickens just those seven.

So are they really not fertile just "look" fertile.

We have a male duck but the most he does when the chickens are out is bite there bottoms to get them away. He has never come close to mounting or trying to do the deed with them.

Sorry about taking so long to get back...we had a LONG busy weekend. So here are some eggs that I got the very next day and there isn't any noticable bullseye in them. These eggs are from the same chickens that had the bullseye the day before.

Also my EE that hadn't started laying that could have been the chicken in question started to lay yesterday 2/14 she gave be a great Valentine's Day present Our first green egg

Since we got that egg from my EE that elimanates all possibilities of a roo being under cover. So there is no chance those eggs are fertile. It is so weird that they look fertile and they did have the perfect bullseye. The only thing I could think of is the hens are still working everything out internaly when they lay and the eggs just had the look of being fertile. (if that makes sence, I don't even know if that can happen)

Thank you to all that helped me out. I guess I just have crazy ladies.

There should be a white ring around it if they are fertile. A clear bullseye, not just a white dot...

ETA: I am going through the same waiting game with my BR's.....

I agree, some how there previous eggs just looked like they were fertile but now these are defiantly not fertile looking.

I am incubating eggs right now and when I candle them I see a black spot. Does that mean it is going to hopefully hatch? Is that the eye developing? Wondering if it is rotten or a good thing?
