we have just found out he is a cockeral and he is abut 8 months old but unsure on what breed he is

I would lean more toward Barnie on account of the slight lacing I can see on the downy feathers (by his legs).

He's a good lookin' guy too!

the lacing could be due to youth... he looks too young to have his full adult coloring, but it could be a hatchery barnvelder, yes
