Does anybody keep a steady flow of eggs?

Can you keep putting eggs in the bator as you get them?

seems to work fine.

There are a couple "gotchas" thought that I"ve found.


1. Keep track of which eggs went in when (I have a calendar now next to the incubator with everything written on it)
2. Care for the humidity.
-I was getting a few drowning chicks (too much humidity) as I was keeping the humidity at about 70% throughout.
-I now try to get it as dry as possible and only bump the humidity up when doing lockdown
-I figure that a couple days of high humidity wont drown the eggs as long as it's sufficiently dry the rest of the setting time
---I'm in the early stages of building a hatcher so I can keep rotating eggs through without having to worry about drowning the chicks


Other than that, it's been working fine to add a batch every week or so and have a steady stream in and out.

I have an incubator and a hatcher and I rotate eggs...In the spring I set 5 to 10 doz at a time and rotate them out of the turner their last three days into a brooder..I have 30 dozen going at a time...We belong to a smallish church(about 14 families) and I hatch eggs out for those that want them for meat and eggs....then will set for the kids to earn spending money they sell the chicks.. then for our needs.....I love the setting and hatching process.....not the growing out process....chickens are not pets to me I do love em tho fried,boiled and baked
