I just got him in September and his toes were like that when I got him. My chickens don’t have any other problems, his diet is Purina chicken food.what is his diet?
do any of the others have similar problems?
have you owned him since he hatched?
Thanks! I’ll try the AID tape.It looks like Crooked toes, my chicken used to have this. You have to put AID tape on it, sadly it probably won't work. Since it is most commonly found in chicks, I think it happens because of vitamin deficiency
I got him in September, so I don’t know if he hatched like that.he looks to be about a year and a half based on his spurs, were his feet always like that, as in a birth defect?
If not, it could be he's broken his toes at different times and they healed badly. Or he has a difficult time with hard flat surfaces an over time it's made him use his feet that way, which only made it worse. Or maybe some kind of vitamin deficiency?
Since he isn't always standing with his legs splayed to the sides it seems more likely he broke those toes at some point.
No problem! but just keep in mind, since older chickens toes are stronger then chick toes. It might not work :\Thanks! I’ll try the AID tape.
