Does anybody train their chickens?

I do! I am actually doing a project with my flock with training. they are trained to come when they see the color blue (well... they did that by themselves, so it probably wouldn't count as training), and over summer I was teaching one of my Sapphire Gems to weave through poles. I am hoping to teach them some chicken agility (like dog agility, except for chickens). training chickens is a really fun way to connect with your flock (and also a good excuse to spend an hour or two in your hen coop ;)).

Once you have trained them to do something using the clicker...do you always have to use the clicker to get them to do it from then on or do you advance to not having to use clicker and they do it just for treats?
Yep, once they’ve learned the action fairly well I remove the clicker and it becomes only vocal commands

I trained my EE, Poofy Cheeks, to do tricks for a school project. I did not get much done even though we had the entire year to do it because my parents never let us leave the house and refused to get training food. I started using wild bird food(but she only responded to the sunflower seeds, so that was even less training food), and they said I just didnt try after I ran out. Their regular food did not work either. Then I started using raisons last minute because I needed to get it done. I ended up teaching her to eat out of my hand(which took her a while to understand the consept lol, so my parents responded with I can go out there and hand feed one right now, yeah because I had to yeach them lol), to jump for food, and to walk through a hoop(no jumping). I attempted to teach her to go onto my arm, but she became too lazy to do that. Same thing with jumping onto a stool. On presentation day she decided to jump onto a table when I wasn't looking though so I guess that counts. I was hoping to teach her to play the xylophone, but I quickly relized that was not going to happen. It would be cool if you teach your girls to play instruments.
Good luck with your birds!

You can clicker train them! Mine aren't, but my serama roo bebeep does know his name if I call him. And he follows me everywhere I go. If I go out and call "Bijou!! Be-beep!! Come here bijouuu!" He comes running lol.
Yeah my older ones definitely know their name...Joey my 1 yr roo follows me around like a dog...then again he also decides to attack if he's in a mood, lil turd!
