Does anyone else have a chicken that's anti-fun?

My 13 week-old d'Uccle will not tolerate other chickens frolicking around the pen. Seriously, she's like the fun police. Anything beyond a casual waddle gets you a head peckin'. Everyone was feeling spunky before bed (probably because it wasn't 1,000 degrees for 30 minutes), then the screams start because Poppy's booping them on the noggin. Gently, of course!

My large fowl flock also had an enforcer (who ended up being flock leader).

Anyone else see this? It's kind of funny, but also a bit of a downer. 😂

The offending lady, lording over her Pekin sisters.

Haven’t had this problem, but I adore her cheeks! And I’m one of those who don’t particularly like eruptions of extra feathers.

She looks like a retired English Major on a Monty Python skit, starting an indignant letter to The Times: “Sir, I wish to protest the outrageous…”

PLEASE enter this into the caption contest submission Thread. 😂

Thank you both. Whoever invented the d'Uccle had a great sense of humor.
Honestly, I didn’t realize what your profile picture was at first… but now that I see it up close? This might just be my new favorite chicken breed—especially yours, it’s absolutely stunning. I’m supposed to be on a break from writing a research grant proposal, and now I’ve fallen down a d'Uccle rabbit hole. Thanks for the (much-needed) distraction! Haha. Concentrate 🤬

My profile pic's actually Wren, one of my Bantam Cochins. But I'm due for an overhaul and will switch it to Poppy!
