We just made a batch this morning and half are already gone! These are the most wonderful scones I've ever tasted so far. They do come from a mix. If you run across King Arthur Flour brand mixes do try them if you have not already. We added powdered sugar for topping which adds just the right amount for sweetness. They are loaded with dried oranges and cranberries. Has anyone else ever tried these from the mix? This probably sounds like an ad for King Arthur Flour, LOL but they are sooo delicious!

Fresh-baked scones, hot from the oven... it just doesn't get any better! Cranberry-Orange Scone Mix from King Arthur Flour. Anyone care for one?

Now, if I just had their 'exact' recipe, hum!

No sugar please, but I will take 2 or 3 still warm with butter.

Thanks for offering.

I have never warmed up to scones - just not a fan.
Every time I try one, I find it tastes like a bad baking powder biscuit. Like too much baking powder or something.

Now, deep fried bread dough or indian fry bread, that is yummy!

Editted to add:

Those do look tasty, though!

I love scones...good scones that is. There are some really bad scones out there that give the rest a bad name! I've never tried the King Arthur ones as I generally make my own. Our household favorite flavor combo is strawberry-white chocolate.

I have tried them but just don't see the attraction personally.

My DW being 3/4 Irish descent loves them and a friend who is from the old country always offer some when I go over house just all set. Just don't like the dryness to them and maybe they were just bad scones, don't know. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

It might be in adding the butter or lack of? I always add 'extra' butter to my batches and they turn out so moist and flaky!
