Does anyone else notice this?

I've noticed when I'm outside and the hens can see me or if I'm in their run they are very loud. When i go back inside they quiet down. Does anyone else notice this? I wonder why my presense works them up.

mine are the same lol but i think its cuz everytime i go out i take them a little treat of veg lol but sometimes when i go out amd i dont have a treat they soon go quiet lol maybe this is the same reason for you??????? xxx

Mine are noiser. They want my attention. It reminds me of small children.

I bring them treats every time I go outside just to keep them quiet...but it doesn't always work.

I will agree with this, with one exception: it seems my rooster, Carl, is calling me to come outside if I'm home and haven't been out in a couple of hours. He even comes to the back door and crows there. Then, when I go outside, he hardly crows at all.

But everybody else has tons of things to say to me and stories to share and complaints about their flock-mates and those ducks and the dog and why aren't I giving them treats this very second? I hardly hear 'em at all the rest of the time.
