Hello, I purchased a new Repti-pro 5000 incubator on Ebay. Its a nice incubator, looks like a little fridge. Comes with only 1 tray and it can be placed at 3 different levels in the incubator. It states that the temp displayed is a reading from the top of the incubator. I have it up to 105 on the display and the thermometer on the rack I have the eggs on reads 98.7. I tried 2 different thermometers and it is the same. Is anyone else having the same problem with this unit? It holds steady, but I can't imagine there would be such a difference in temps. I need to get used to this incubator and I have old faithful (old Hova bator) warming up just in case. Any help appreciated! Ann

Yes, originally its just a mini fridge / cooler warmer that "reptipro" slapped a label on, and was not built to be an incubator.
Do not trust the temps on the digital display, mine is set for 106 or107 to keep it at 100. I haven't put eggs in it, I think If I ever did I would add a small fan to circulate air better, it tends to be hotter at the top than the bottom.

THANK you soooo much for the info. I thought it was just me. It looked like a cute incubator. I guess when I get used to it, it won't be so bad. Yes, I have it at 105 degrees to keep it at 100, I thought it may be my thermometer. Just glad I am not the only one..
