does anyone give their chickens Flock Block

I bought one once but after my 100+ chickens and ducks ate it in 4 days I decided it wasnt worth the $14 it cost. If I had fewer birds though I would buy it again.

I bought one mid-winter, I even chipped some pieces off of it to hand feed them and get them interested, didn't work. They could care less about it. It was a waste of money for me, but worth trying at least once. Will probably try again this winter just in case. It may be because mine are allowed to free range year round if they choose to do so.?????

Probably need an air hammer to break that sucker.

I just saw "Uncle Jimmy's Pecker Recker" at my feed store. It is made by some company that makes horse treats. I think it's basically the same as a flock block and is only 1.5 lbs. and has a metal hook on it. It is rectangular. Forgot to check the price, but it looks like it would hang on my kennel real well. They might have them in your area. Just Google Uncle Jimmy's Horse treats if you don't want weird stuff to come up on the search!

Cindy in PA Yes I will be careful how I search that one. The name alone I have to search.

Hmm, thanks for the idea! We are going on vacation in a month or so and the birds will have to spend more time inside while we're gone. I think I'm going to try this!

I just Googled "Uncle Jimmy's horse treats" and almost fell off the couch laughing! Uncle Jimmy makes the Pecker Recker for chickens and he also makes Hangin' Balls, Licky things, and Squeezy Buns for horses! Hilarious!!!

I just bought a Flock Block today but I think my chickens are a little young. They are only 10 weeks, but living outside and they are huge! I am afraid to feed them oyster shell so early though, I heard that was bad. Any advice?
