Does anyone have a good cookie glaze recipe?

Want to make Halloween cookies this year, LOVE Halloween!!!!!! And, I want to coat them with a glaze. I have tried many but just not happy with the results. What do you have for me to try!!!!

The only glaze I know of is powdered sugar mixed with either a bit of milk or maybe some water. Add food coloring or flavorings if you wish.

I can't think of anything else that would dry hard enough to be finger food.

Or, you can brush with egg white and use that to stick sugar to the top, but it has to be baked. I suppose you could take the cookies out a couple of minutes before done, brush them with egg white, sprinkle with sugar and then back into the oven. It's pretty, but it doesn't look like glaze.
