Does anyone have a good heartburn remedy???

I'm dying here. I made the mistake of drinking too much coffee on
an empty stomach, then moving a 500 pound generator by myself,
then eating spaghetti with tomato sauce at 4 pm without eating anything
else all day. This is a recipe for HORRIBLE heartburn. I should have
know better but I'm an idiot.

I've already chewed up 6 tums with no effect. I also tried chocolate ice
cream which has helped in the past-didn't help.

I know this is not chicken related but I figured I'd tap this source. I don't
search the net for remedies because I'll find I have some strange disease
contracted from an African frog or some other nasty disease that I don't
really have.

I wish I had some ginger to try.

My grandfather used to take a teaspoon of bakeing soda, and a glass of water....very small glass...it tastes BAD! But, it worked great...so he said. I have yet to try. LOL I hope you are feeling better soon!

I dont have a home made recipe, but I swear by Xantac. Just pop one 1/2 hour before eating and I can eat anything I want with no ill effects.

I can't eat spaghetti & meatballs these days without waking up in the middle of the night with acid reflux and heartburn. I have to get up and drink some white milk which does the trick. I think the acid in the tomatoes is neutralized by it.

I suffered with heartburn and acid reflux. I now take Prilosec OTC every morning and I can eat anything without problems.

The baking soda deal always works here when it's really a bad case of heartburn....
