Hi! I couldn't find any references that addressed my problem in any of the history, so I'm posting it as a new topic. Winter is for repairs, so I've always been told. This project is on my To-Do list: I have an automatic misting system in my run. Works great EXCEPT for draining. The system is designed so that the timer turns the water on for 10-15 minutes out of every hour. At the end of each cycle, we installed 2 drain valves for irrigation systems. They were supposed to open when pressure drops below 3 psi. They stay open all the time, so we had to replace them with a faucets at the low point (end) which must be opened manually at the end of each cycle. I've worked with valves on aircraft, engine fuel systems mainly, which were spring-loaded open and closed by system pressure. When the fuel pressure dropped below 5 psi, the spring tension overcame the psi, the valve opened and the excess fuel in the systen drained. Does anyone know where I can get anything that works like this that can be installed in 1/2" pvc? Even if we have to think creatively about adaptation, any ideas will help. I know exactly what I want, but have no idea where I can get one. I don't want to buy one from Rolls Royce or Lockheed, either. That's a bit out of my price range! This is considered a high-pressure (60 psi) system. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Kathy
