I have three giant Lorp roosters, and they are seriously the nicest roosters I have ever had. Nice to the hens, nice to each other, and nice to me, not to mention, super tame. They live together peacefully with the lead rooster, who is much smaller than them, but they never challenge him. I wish I had some videos of them up, because they are the biggest characters!
Anyways, it's up to you what you want to get. Some Australorps will be nicer with the hens than others, but ALL can be taught to be nice with you, trust me. If you need some practical rooster advise on how to avoid getting another mean rooster (because ALL roosters have the potential to be aggressive; it just depends on the rooster and how they're treated), then I think this will help: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=63850-the-definite-guide-to-roosters. There's a picture of a couple of my awesome Australorp roosters at the top of the page.
