Hey all! I have a pair of India Blue Peafowl and I love them (they are a year old--the male looks like a turkey! haha)

I was wondering if anyone can sell me a couple peafowl hatching eggs. I would really like some whites

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you will be sol until spring, as their laying season pretty much ends when the males drop their trains... which should be about now. There are still a few people selling on eBay, but I personally wouldn't buy right now.

breading season is basically over for peafowl now... Im still getting an occasional egg, but they have not been fertile.
So beware if somone tries to sell you some.

Oh ok

I will definitely wait until spring then. I did not know that the males drop their trains when breeding season is over. Thanks for the information!!

u will have to go to southasia i.e pakistan , india etc to get the eggs now, but these r last dayz of breedin season there as well.....

Hmmm... looked up my state (North Dakota)...

NORTH DAKOTA
0 Breeders Listed
Sorry, no breeders listed

Also none in South Dakota or Montana which leaves me with MN and it's a 4 hour drive just to get to the state line. So part of me thinks that I should get enough nice peas to set up a breeding program, the other part of me admits that if I did, nobody would want them. Mostly cropland around here and they don't seem interested in critters mostly for show.

oops on the breeders indeed!

You should set up a breeding program... at the very least, you could sell the eggs and feathers, those ship fairly easily. At most, you garner some interest in them in your area or you look into shipping birds!

I agree. Be the first in your state with a peafowl farm!!
You can have young birds shipped to you easily... wait till fall though, less heat and babies will be old enough to sex.
