Does anyone have Buckeyes?

My Buckeye girl won BV at Marietta last year - Can't say enough good things about her -She was a rescue from Ohio
Nationals She was left in the sale cage. Very good layer
not commenting on the breed there just on her -She also was a shoulder sitter - Would sit on my shoulder while i walked around-I am adding these as my second Standard breed---i really liked them---

Here I go off topic but...

Shari those silkie chicks in that dog bowl on your web page just made my day.
How did your dogs like them?

that pic was taken by Nikki /HatTrick -- She is a nut ---

I also love that pic--One of the buff girls in that pic won RV at Marietta second to Spolyd Silkies...

I made a boo in my Buff program- and had to start all over--
Story of my life - I was breeding for tight slim type -
needed to adda few wider silkies -- went on a hunt for thiker birds so I am hoping for another bowl of buff chicks

Marlinchaser, I answered your message but I don't think it worked:(

Thanks to everyone who responded, I think I'll give these a try. I'm not sure if the hatchery buckeyes are good quality, so maybe I'll try to get some eggs and hatch them out myself. Then maybe I can sell some and get other people interested in them!

I have abreeding flock of Buckeyes. My stock came from private breeders. I currently have 1 Rooster, 1 Cockerel and 8 hens.

Here is a link to another forum's thread where I discuss Buckeyes at great length with other fellow Buckeye Breeders. Please notice the thread on this forum has 61 posts and consists of FIVE pages. Go to the bottom right hand side of each page and click to the next page. There are lots of my pictures and other Buckeyes from other folks. We discuss the breed in detail:

I am putting about a dozen Buckeye eggs in the incubator today! Let me know if you have any questions. My Buckeyes lay a large eggs and lay pretty good. I do not provide artificial lighting to increase the laying as I prefer to let their bodies rest during their winter molt. Chcikens are NOT machines!
