Are they docile? Do they like to be touched? Are they willing to raise their own chicks? Any info would be great! Thanks.

Also, one q regarding pekin ducks... Are they like cornish chickens where you can't keep them long term as pets because they begin to get health problems from their weight?

They are friendly but I wouldn't call them cuddly. They LOVE attention, they like it when you talk to them and of course, they love to eat treats from your hand. They are supposed to raise their own broods and I will find out for sure if that is the case this spring

I raised 3 as day olds. The didn't like being picked up but liked being petted. I would take them to play outside and I would lay in the grass with my head on my chin. They would hide under my arms, then run out and explore...then run back under to hide if something scared them. It was HILARIOUS and I had a wonderful time playing momma duck.

Of all the breeds I have had, these are by far the friendliest. Even the WH I got as adults will eat from my hand.
