Does anyone have or has anyone used this?

I bought one of these at the local co-op for $35. It has worked very well as a waterer but it has not gotten cold enough to have to plug it in. Should find out pretty soon though. Will keep you posted.

I use a small stock heated bucket, larger birds do fine with this, and it is much easier to fill. I have the non electric waterers and I don't like how to fill them up, its a pain in the #@$!!! Its so much easier in the winter to just bring out a bucket of fresh water and dump it in the bucket. especially if you have lots of birds, or ducks, the ducks will empty one of those waterers in about 10 minutes!!

Do you have any problems with them roosting on the rim of the bucket? If you do, how do you discourage them? I currently use an oil pan and about half of the rim has roosting chickens on it. I think it would be similar to a bucket rim. I really do like this idea though. How many gallon bucket do you use?

Thanks everyone for the input.
