Does anyone have pics, of their waterers and feeders!

JoeB...what would you like to know? I'd be more than happy to assist a fellow...person from Indiana (Sorry...won't use that other term anymore).

Actually...I'm visiting in state now.

Thanks, hope you're enjoying your visit to The Big Cornfield. Did you design/make the waterer yourself?
If so, I'd really like a description of how it was built.
If you bought it, I'd like to buy one too if you have a website or address for company/store.

I was in Walmart a month or so ago and saw the big cooler...a garden hose screws onto the drain. The little giant fountain is a low pressure waterer carried by many places. I just connected the two with a garden hose. I did buy an adapter to go from the hose to the waterer...no big deal. I also cut down the garden hose to the length I needed and put an adapter on it. Gotta go

Using a 3 lb coffee container, cut 1 inch deep, using another plastic container for the feed resivior, cutting 3"x2" holes in the part that will set on the coffee container. Poke a hole up through the base, feed resivior and its cover. Thread bailer twine up through, making a large knot to hold the bottom up with the top canister, run twine up through cover hole so you can then use cup hook/nail to hang this from. It helps to prevent little feet from stepping in it. Here is a pic...

With the same idea I am certain you could make any size feeder.

JoeB,

I did some searching and while I found Cutlers to have a better price, they were VERY high on shipping charges. I found Jeffers to be a dollar more but shipping was a lot less. It arrived within 3 days I believe.

Post some pics when you get it up and running.

FYI... With that garden hose, you mention using an adaptor. Two options that may work better. (A) use a washing machine hose and both ends will be female - stainless steel option too! (B) Just cut the male end off and buy a repair end for the hose that is female.

NOTE: I would recomend using water hoses made for camper water supply lines. Normal garden hoses are not made for potable water useage. The price would be much the same. Although, it is unlikly to harm the chicks I would think.

Nice set up too, btw...
