Hello,
I will soon start putting ducks in there breeding pens, I will be hatching pure-breed Magpie and Ancona. I am wondering if I should do some crossbreeds, but I would love to see what they would look first, if it's possible. If you have any pictures of the crosses below I would love to see them.

Why cross breed them?
I know anconas are an excellent breed as they are!



Chocolate Ancona Drake x Black Runner Hen = this will give you chocolate females and black (carrying chocolate) males

Chocolate Ancona Drake x Khaki Campbell Hen = likely to get chocolate and khaki colored babies, heavily marked with little to no spotting

Chocolate Ancona Drake x Black Magpie Hen = same sex-link as first pair, females will be chocolates and males black that carry chocolate. This mating will be all mixes but throw spots similar to both breeds as well as could make heavily marked offspring

Black Magpie Drake x Khaki Campbell Hen = this will likely make black babies with little to no spotting

Black Magpie Drake x Black Runner Hen = same as above, black babies, may or may not have spots / bibs

Black Magpie Drake x Lilac Ancona Hen = likely to get black babies with various spotting, can be heavy too depending on parents genes. Small chance of getting some blues

Black Magpie Drake x Brown Ancona Hen = all black babies, any males will be chocolate carriers

Yes, I do love the Anconas, but I still have room in my incubator and I don't have a problem with extra ducklings.
