Does anyone have Splash Laced Red Wyandottes?

I was under the impression 4H was primarily showmanship. How you handle and your knowledge of the bird is primary. How well the bird conforms to the standard of perfection secondary. In this sort of judging it's about how well you train and work the bird prior to show.

Any who, BLRW do not have a standard so the bird would be judged based on the breed body type. Your bird needs more lift of tail. She seems to have the width, not too bad of a tent but due to the low tail her back looks long. Wyandotte tails should be high and very broad upside down V. The back should be short, few fingers wide before tail sweep. A common way to imagine the correct shape is to envision a circle around them in profile and the bird should fill it except top of circle. It's a bird of curves and symmetry.

Foley's Silver Laced are better type than the BLRW.

Thanks for replying! I adore Foley's birds. I have a few more pics of her on my phone that I'll post tomorrow. She was holding her tail way higher today, she alternates how he holds it for some reason. I've trained her to be handled since I got her, but she's a bit large and I'm not, so I hope it works out. I should have gotten bantams probably, but I could only find straight run. Do you have any training/handling tips? I'm not sure what I have to teach her.

I have some 8 week olds, not sure of their sex and they aren't full grown yet, but I love the splashed laced reds too! The lighter white one is my best behaved and always comes to me for a cuddle. I have a mix of Wyandottes and they are a very gentle breed so far 😁

Where did you get them? They're beautiful. Your blue one is so pretty. Thank you for sharing pics.
My hen just hatched chicks a few weeks ago. She was a wonderful setter and is a great mama. She looks kinda ragged in this pic due to being broody in a tiny nestbox, lol
