Does anyone have this coop?

We have the same coop. It's built great and is very sturdy. We saved a boat load of money by picking it up ourselves. Normally it runs about the $1400 range, but it only cost us 650.00.

We have 10 chickens and it is suppose to be for a max of 16.

We love our coop.

I have your coop's bigger brother............also Amish-made, but 6' x 6' floor, vs 4' x 6'........and tall enough to stand
upright in! I looked at the 4' x 6' one, but did not like the fact that I had to stoop over the whole time I was inside the coop......
also wasn't crazy about the coated wire 'roost' area in the 4' x 6'..........I prefer 2" x 4"'s........4" side 'up'!
As you can see, I've done some 'customizing'...........a little front porch for the chickies (with steps for me,) a 'large dog' doggy
door, as my pop-door (because the pop-door that comes with the coop was NOT big enough for my big ol' Sussex to get thru!)

and inside I added 2 roosts and a droppings board.....

and also added insulation, and two 8" x 14" louvered vents in each gable end (as you can see one of them over the fan in
this pic).......there 'are' 2 windows and a ridge vent in the coop as it comes from the builders.......but the more ventilation, the better, if you ask me!

JMHO, you might want to look at the 6' x 6' version..............more room for YOU, and you can have about 9 large fowl with
this size coop. (I'd only have 6 in the smaller version.)

Their coops are very well made, and I think you'd be very happy with the craftsmanship!

The Amish one does seem really nice. I like the way it sits up off the ground because I get little critters under mine.

I'm a little worried about the size though.

As in you da man !! (I'm guessing you are a man?). I like the thoughtful little touches. The only thing is I think you should have primered and painted everything. I think the wood, interior and exterior lasts a whole lot longer after all of that work.
Hope your hens appreciate it!

One thing I noticed is when I put the chickens in the coop so that we could put the rest of the solar panels on the top that the coop was pretty cozy warm from just sitting in the sun for a few hours.

Behind the coop and run is my fenced in dog area, so we used the 2 fences in the back of the coop and farthest side to add on our hardware cloth, etc.... we also aproned out hardware cloth on the ground on ALL sides (even the coop itself)... my sciatica is still screaming at me for that.

Looks nice. You have 8 standard hens in there? Do you think the description of housing 12-15 chickens is accurate?
Are they able to go under the coop or is it not high enough?

I know they can get underneath the coop. I am mostly going to keep it closed off and only let them go underneath occasionally.

I think I can get about 20 total in there... seriously. I have 4 standard breeds and 4 bantams. My crew are always (so far) together.. no matter how much room they have they are always together whether it's roosting or in the sleeping chicken pile they seem to enjoy.

Keep in mind my chickens aren't outside in the coop yet. I'll probably be preparing that this weekend with litter, etc. They still come in at night and sleep in thier brooder.

I am kinda feeling apprehensive about them leaving the house all the time because I am so used to them being in here. They are almost 8 weeks old.

I bought a used large dog house that was very well built and converted it into a coop for the three chickens the other chickens picked on. I could probably fit five chickens in it comfortably.

The dog house cost me $30 and the materials to convert it approx. $20. It looks cute, just needs a coat of paint.
