Does anyone have wild chickens in their area?

Our friends just bought a house in Mexico and asked if I could suggest a trap for them because they make a mess of everything. Collecting wild eggs sounds like a good idea, but I would definately be float testing them to make sure they are fresh or you could be in for a surprise!

say opihiman! can you tell me what you let your chickens eat from our area?? do they bother things they shouldnt like taro? what about breadfruit, hibiscus or other stuff thats all around? mine seem to love to munch on banana stalks... what have you found they really like? new to chickens with 9 spoiled girls...

Mine will eat just about anything and everything. I give them everything you mentioned but found they don't like taro cooked or raw. When I cut down a bananna stalk it goes in the run and they will eat it completely gone in a week or two. All the weeds I pick go in there, they love coconuts & mango. I pick up wild guava and lilikoi when I'm hiking, they will eat them even half fermenting. Overripe bananna and breadfruit is just like pudding to them.
There are a couple weeds here that I throw in and they won't eat, not sure what it is but I guess they know not to eat it. Of coarse their favorite is fresh live centipedes and scorpions. Its amazing that they run around trying to eat a centipede and keep it away from the other all the time not getting bit, but the love centipedes.
