Does anyone know about genetic mutations

I have a Dorking mix rooster and his wattles(under the ears) have white dots at first i thought it was because he was old but now that his chicks are grown I see that some of them have the same white wattles (under the ears)

He is a mix.
Most likely a breed with white lobes is in his ancestral past. This is more likely than a new mutation.

Sorry, I just reread your post. I missed that it was the wattles, not the earlobes. So unless you have pictures, I have no opinion.
