Actually No they form a bachelor flock in the wild. My very first flock of guineas were adopted by me.... five malesThankyou so much! will the males fight with the others because as far as im aware i have 2 males.
Guinea fowl are very interesting socially. In the wild the females will pair off with a male for the season for the most part. Each year it can be a different male but they stick to one feller for the breeding season. The whole flock of thirty or forty will forage together sound the alarm for each other and generally cooperate in keeping the flock safe. As with all flocks or herds there will be extra males and these will band together for their own protection. But surprisingly they will share in the responsibility of raising the Keets. So will the dads.
We humans bred some of this out of the domesticated guineas in favor of colors, or docility.... much like we did with chickens. But the basics are still there.
